CC_kFounded in 1914 as Peoples Hospital, Akron General Medical Center has grown to a 532-registered-bed, adult, tertiary care hospital. Today, it is staffed by more than 1,000 physicians, 3,400 healthcare professionals and support staff and 550 volunteers who serve a population of more than 1.2 million people throughout Summit, Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne Counties of Northeast Ohio.

The Medical Center provides the highest level of emergency services, Level One Trauma, and is an area leader in diagnostic and outpatient services.
